My father Dr. Mir Mohammad Amjad Hussain, Founder of Khwaja Yunus Ali University had a cherished desire to serve the underprivileged community. As charity should begin at home, he picked up his own village Enayetpur for this purpose. Realizing the crying need of female education, he first established Meherunnessa Girls’ High School in 1952 and that was the modest beginning. At present, the same village houses a number of organizations all built and managed by him. The organizations at Enayetpur are Khwaja Yunus Ali Laboratory School & College, Khwaja Yunus Ali Nursing College, Khwaja Yunus Ali Medical College & Hospital, KYAMCH Cancer Centre and last but not the least, Khwaja Yunus Ali University. Some institutes by this time have attained international stature. Khwaja Yunus Ali University is running 4th year of their academic activities. The University has decided to publish a prospectus for which I have been asked to write a few lines. I consider it a unique privilege on my part but at the same time I feel too small to represent a towering personality in the person of a father about whom the more we learn, the more appreciations we have about what a great person he was. Khwaja Yunus Ali University (KYAU) is in a stage of development. Modern technology has given us access to the quest of knowledge allowing measurements and experiments that could hardly be dreamt a decade ago. Today, research-based University is moving away from its former preoccupation of knowledge building to 21st Century survival assault of technology-based skilled workforce. The survival of this university vis-à -vis our own survival depends on concerted effort and continuous progress portrayed in the palette representing world-class University. I am aware that, though I do not have the same capability of my father, destiny has placed the responsibility of developing this university on my shoulder to make it fruitful to the future generation of Bangladesh. I would therefore, urge to all those who are joining with me to put up their best to build this university to the same stature as my father envisaged. We, on our part those in the management shall leave no stone unturned to fulfill the dream of our father, the great philanthropist Dr. Mir Mohammad Amjad Hussain. I would only expect the faculty members and the students of this university to live up to our expectations.

May Allah help us.
Mohammad Yusuf
